SEATTLE (MAJ: 15-24 4th American League West): The Mariners beat the Chicago White Sox 6-3. Raul Ibanez (Foxes, ’94) homered and drove in two runs for Seattle as the M’s ended their five-game losing streak.
TACOMA (AAA: 19-17, 2nd Pacific Coast League Pacific Northern Division): The Rainiers swept a doubleheader at Omaha. In game one, a 3-1 Tacoma victory, Ryan Feierabend (’04) allowed one run on three hits for the win and Eric O’Flaherty (’05) got the save. Rob Johnson (’05) drove one of the runs. In game two, Shawn Garrett hit a three-run homer in the top of the seventh inning for a 3-2 win.
WEST TENNESSEE (AA: 23-14, 2nd Southern League North Division): The Diamond Jaxx lost 3-2 at Birmingham. Jon Nelson (’03) had three hits and an RBI for West Tennessee. The Diamond Jaxx had a 2-1 lead into the bottom of the eighth, but the Barons scored twice in their half of the eighth for the win.
HIGH DESERT (High-A: 17-20, T-1st California League South Division): The Mavericks beat Rancho Cucamonga 10-7. High Desert scored seven times in the bottom of the seventh to rally for the win. Matt Mangini was 5-for-5 with a homer and two RBI and Kuo Hui Lo (’07) had a pair of hits and a pair of RBI for the Mavs.
