SEATTLE (MAJ: 15-26 4th American League West): The Mariners lost 5-2 at Texas. Raul Ibanez (Foxes, ’94) had two hits and a run scored. Felix Hernandez (’03) allowed three runs (two earned) over six innings on six hits and five walks for the loss.
TACOMA (AAA: 21-17, 2nd Pacific Coast League Pacific Northern Division): The Rainiers won 4-1 at Omaha. Shawn Garrett hit a two-out, three-run homer in the top of the ninth inning -- again -- to break a 1-1 tie.
WEST TENNESSEE (AA: 23-16, 2nd Southern League North Division): The Diamond Jaxx lost 4-2 at Birmingham. Prentice Redman drove in the only two runs for West Tennessee. Justin Thomas (’06) walked five, struck out six, and allowed four runs over five innings to take the loss.
HIGH DESERT (High-A: 17-22, T-2nd California League South Division): The Mavericks lost 8-2 at Bakersfield. Greg Halman (’07) hit a pair of solo homers for High Desert, but the Blaze took advantage of seven walks by Keith Renaud ('07) and had three homers of their own.
