Rattler History...Since 2000

Here is how the Rattlers have fared on May 1…since 2000

2000: The Rattlers beat Burlington 10-2 at home. Ryan Christianson homered and drove in two runs. Caleb Balbuena allowed one run on two hits over five innings for the win.

2001: The Rattlers were off.

2002: The game at Quad City was called after Joe Mauer hit a two-run homer off Tanner Watson in the bottom of the first. Rain delayed the start of the game by 93 minutes. Then, we sat around until 10:00pm before the game was finally called.

2003: The Rattlers won 4-2 at Dayton. There was a rain delay of one hour and 21 minutes during this game and Dave Viane got the win in relief of TA Fulmer. Jon Nelson and Dustin Delucchi each had RBI for the Rattlers.

2004: The Rattlers game at Fort Wayne was rained out

2005: The Rattlers lost 6-5 at South Bend. All of the scoring in this game was in the first three innings. Asdrubal Cabrera’s three-run double in the top of the second and Mike Wilson’s homer in the third gave the Rattlers brief leads, but Jason Snyder could not hold them.

2006: The Rattlers and the Whitecaps split a doubleheader. West Michigan won game one 9-4. Wisconsin took game two 4-3.

GAME ONE: The Whitecaps scored three in the first, two in the second, and two in the third. All seven runs were off Marwin Vega.

GAME TWO: A three run fourth was enough for the Rattlers to hang on for the win.

2007: The Rattlers lost 10-4 to Dayton at home. There was a 4-3 Rattler lead after a four run fourth inning. But, Dayton scored three in the sixth and four in the seventh.

A 3-3 record with a few off days. But, this was a great day for Timber Rattler history. Because on May 1, 2002, after the rainout in Quad Cities, I drove to Clinton and hit the riverboat casino. I hit a Royal Flush and pulled a little over $1,000 out of there. As I said...Great day!
