Here is how the Rattlers have fared on May 2…since 2000
2000: The Rattlers lost 6-5 in 11 innings to Burlington at home. The Bees tied the game with two runs in the top of the ninth inning off Danny Delgado. JR Mounts had an RBI triple in the eleventh for the winning run. Chris Snelling had four hits and a pair of RBI for the Rattlers.
2001: The Rattlers beat Clinton 7-5 at home. Chuck Lopez had three hits, including a two-run homer. There was a rain delay of nearly an hour just before the start of the Rattler half of the second inning. John Butler got the win in relief.
2002: The Rattlers beat Clinton 9-1 on the road. Chris Collins had three RBI and Juan Doñe pitched seven strong innings for the win.
2003: The Rattlers lost 8-1 at Dayton. Beau Hintz and Rich Dorman got lit up in the sixth and seventh innings. The Dragons scored three runs in each frame to break open a 1-1 tie.
2004: The Rattlers lost both games of a doubleheader at Fort Wayne. The Wizards won game one 7-1. They took game two 6-4.
GAME ONE: Chris Colton homered in the top of the second inning. But, Tom Oldham allowed a homer to Fernando Valenzuela in the second, a three-run homer to Skip Adams in the fourth, and a solo homer to Jordan Pickens in the fifth. For good measure, Mike Hrynio gave up a two-run homer to Colt Morton in the sixth.
GAME TWO: Michael Cox and Jeremy Dutton both homered for the Rattlers, but Fort Wayne broke a 4-4 tie with two run in the bottom of the sixth off Juan Ovalles for the sweep.
2005: The Rattlers won 8-5 at Southwest Michigan. Brandon Green, Josh Womack, and Rob Johnson all homered for the Rattlers. Eric O’Flaherty got the final two outs for the save. Casey Abrams outpitched Andy Sonnanstine for the win.
2006: The Rattlers lost 10-2 to West Michigan at home. The Whitecaps scored six in the fifth inning. Justin Justice hit a grand slam to cap the inning.
2007: The Rattlers lost 10-1 to Dayton at home. Juan Beltran hit a homer in the bottom of the eighth. But, the Dragons had scored seven runs in the sixth inning to go up 9-0.
A 3-6 record with some big losses and being swept in a doubleheader...pretty crummy day in Rattler history.
