Here is how the Rattlers have fared on May 6...since 2000.
The Rattlers beat Burlington 11-6 at Community Field. I was not at this game because the Green Bay Gamblers were hosting the Junior ‘A’ National Championships.
The Rattlers lost 4-3 to Peoria at home. John Grall’s pinch hit RBI single in the top of the ninth off Chad Wiles broke the 3-3 tie.
The Rattlers game with Kane County at home was rained out.
The Rattlers lost 12-7 at Lansing. The Lugnuts trailed 6-1 after a two-run homer by Carlos Arroyo in the third. Then, Lansing scored nine times in the fifth inning off Tanner Watson and Renee Cortez.
The Rattlers lost 5-2 to Beloit at home. Vinny Rottino hit a solo homer in the fourth inning off Eric O’Flaherty to break a 1-1 tie. Beloit tacked on one in the seventh and two in the eighth and got out of a bases loaded jam in the bottom of the eighth. Adam Jones drove in both Rattler runs.
The Rattlers lost 8-4 to Dayton at home. The losing streak reached four games as Dayton scored six times in the top of the fourth inning. Rob Johnson had three hits and Asdrubal Cabrera homered for the Rattlers.
The Rattlers won 3-2 in 11 innings at Cedar Rapids. Chao Kuan Wu knocked in the winning run with a two-out triple. Edgar Guaramato earned the save with a scoreless bottom of the eleventh.
The Rattlers won 7-4 at South Bend. Wisconsin was down 4-1 heading into the top of the seventh inning. Ougi Diaz had a two run single as part of a three run seventh to tie the game. Alex Liddi knocked in the go ahead run and Gavin Dickey’s two-run double put the Rattlers up by three in the eighth. Joe Kantakevich got the save in the ninth.
A 3-5 record. But, a Chao Kwan Wu game-winning triple in Cedar Rapids in 2006 turns the fun factor up on this day.
