Rattler History...Since 2000

Here is how the Rattlers have fared on May 9…since 2000

2000: Lansing beat the Timber Rattlers 2-1. Rafael Soriano pitched five scoreless innings, allowed three hits, and left with a 1-0 lead. But, Lansing scored twice off Kevin Olore in the seventh inning.

2001: Cedar Rapids beat the Rattlers 5-4. This was a back-and-forth game eventually won by the Kernels in Cedar Rapids. Wisconsin got to within 4-3 with two runs in the top of the seventh. Zack Roper hit a homer off Julio Ayala in the bottom of the seventh. Wisconsin scored again in the eighth, but got no closer.

2002: Kane County beat the Rattlers 10-9 in Grand Chute. The Cougars were up 8-2 heading into the bottom of the seventh inning. Wisconsin rallied to tie the game with six runs in the bottom of the frame. Jeff Ellena tied the game with a two-out RBI single. But, in the top of the eighth, Jason Stokes drove in a pair of runs in the top of the eighth. The Rattlers loaded the bases with no outs in the bottom of the ninth. But, the only run that scored was on a double play ball.

2003: The Rattlers beat the Battle Creek Yankees 11-2 at home. BOBBY Livingston gave up two runs on six hits over 6-1/3 innings. Rene Rivera and Matt Hagen homered in the bottom of the second inning.

2004: The Battle Creek Yankees shutout the Rattlers 5-0 in Grand Chute. Tyler Clippard allowed three hits and struck out six over seven innings for the win. Eric Duncan’s solo homer in the first inning off Ryan Feierabend was all Clippard needed.

2005: The Dragons beat the Rattlers 6-4 in Grand Chute. Rob Johnson tied the game 4-4 with a two-run double in the bottom of the fifth. But, a Jeremiah Piepkorn RBI double in the top of the seventh broke a 4-4 tie.

2006: The Rattlers beat the SWING 4-2 at home. Michael Saunders and Bryan Sabatella both homered in the bottom of the second inning. Justin Thomas allowed two runs (one earned) on three hits over six innings for the win.

2007: The Rattlers won 6-4 at Great Lakes. The Loons scored four times in the bottom of the first inning on three hits off Chris Tillman. Great Lakes had no hits over the final eight innings. Wisconsin tied the game in the top of the fourth inning. A two-run single by Andy Hargrove in the top of the ninth inning drove in the winning runs.

A 3-5 record on May 9...since 2000. Eh kind of day in Rattler history.
