Rattler History...Since 2000

Here is how the Rattlers have fared on May 12…since 2000

2000: The Rattler game with Lansing at home was rained out. This was the last meeting of the half between the teams and the game would not be made up. Rattler record on this date: 17-15

2001: Dayton beat the Rattlers 8-4 at Fifth Third Field. Wily Mo Pena hit a three-run homer in the third inning and Samone Peters followed with a solo shot. Mike Calitri hit a two-run homer in the fourth. All three homers were off Erik Grunwald. Rattler record after this game: 21-15

2002: The Rattlers beat Lansing 9-1 at home. Dan Floyd, Shin-soo Choo, and Chris Collins singled as the first three batters in the bottom of the first. Greg Dobbs was next and he hit a grand slam to erase an early 1-0 Lansing lead. That first inning run was the only one allowed by Tanner Watson as he got the win. 2003: The Battle Creek Yankees swept a doubleheader from the Rattlers in Grand Chute.

GAME ONE: The Yankees won 4-1 behind six solid innings by Jeremy King. Battle Creek scored four runs in the top of the fourth inning off Tanner Watson. Watson allowed ten hits over five innings. Dustin Delucchi hit a homer to lead off the bottom of the first inning for the only Rattler run.

GAME TWO: The Yankees won 4-2. Battle Creek scored four runs in the top of the first inning off Caesar Jimenez. Matt Hagen hit a homer in the fourth inning and Michael Garciaparra drove in the other run with a single. The Rattler record after this game: 17-18

2004: Kane County beat the Rattlers 4-2 at Geneva. Kory Wayment’s two-run double in the sixth inning broke a scoreless tie. Brian Snyder drove in two more runs with a single in the seventh for a 4-0 lead. Wisconsin scored both their runs in the top of the eighth on two wild pitches. Rattler record after this game: 14-19

2005: West Michigan beat the Rattlers 4-2 in ten innings in Grand Chute. Back-to-back RBI hits by Josh Womack and Rob Johnson in the first inning gave the Rattlers a 2-0 lead. The Caps tied the game with two runs in the fifth. A two-run double by Brent Dlugach in the top of the tenth gave West Michigan the win. Rattler record after this game: 18-16

2006: The Rattler game with Dayton in Grand Chute was rained out. This was the second rainout in a row. Rattler record on this date: 15-18

2007: The Rattlers beat the Peoria Chiefs 11-1 at home. Wisconsin scored seven runs in the second inning to put this game away. Carlos Peguero drove in four runs. Anthony Varvaro, Justin Souza, and Rollie Gibson combined for the win. Rattler record after this game: 9-23

A record of 2-5 with a pair of rainouts. May 11 is a crummy day in Rattler history...since 2000.
