Here is how the Rattlers have fared on May 15…since 2000
2000: The Rattlers beat Peoria 13-6 at Vonachen Stadium. Ariel Durango had four RBI, Ruben Castillo had four hits for the Rattlers. Rafael Soriano allowed one run on four hits over five innings for the win. The score was 13-1 until the ninth inning. Pete Duprey walked in one run and gave up a grand slam to Ben Johnson, but struck out future major leaguers Eliezer Alfonzo and Albert Pujols to end the game. Rattler record after this game: 19-16
2001: The Rattlers beat Fort Wayne 3-2 in 17 innings in Grand Chute. John Castellano hit a two-out homer at 11:17pm in the bottom of the 17th to end the 4-hour and 40-minute game. Rattler record after this game: 23-16
2002: The Rattlers were off today and had a record of 17-21
2003: The Rattlers beat Lansing 2-0 in Grand Chute. TA Fulmer, Oscar Delgado, and Bryan Heaston combined on the 10-hit shutout. Fulmer gave up nine hits and struck out eight Lugnuts. Gary Harris drove in one run with a sacrifice fly. Dustin Delucchi scored the other run on a wild pitch. Rattler record after this game: 20-18
2004: Cedar Rapids beat the Rattlers 8-2 in Grand Chute. Matt Brown homered and drove in three runs for the Kernels. Wladimir Balentien hit his second home run of the season, a two-run shot in the seventh, for the only Rattler runs. Rattler record after this game: 15-21
2005: Lansing beat the Rattlers 12-4 at Oldsmobile Park. The Lugnuts scored five runs in the third inning off Aaron Jensen. Jason Armstrong had five RBI for Lansing. Rattler record after this game: 20-17
2006: The Rattlers were swept in a doubleheader at home by the Dayton Dragons.
GAME ONE: Dayton won 7-2. The Rattlers grabbed a 2-1 lead on a Jairo Hernandez homer and Robby Hudson scoring on an error in the bottom of the third. But, the Dragons scored two in the third and three in the seventh.
GAME TWO: Dayton shutout the Rattlers 6-0. Jeff Stevens and Bo Lanier combined on the six-hitter. Jairo Hernandez had a pair of Wisconsin’s hits. Rattler record after this game: 16-21.
2007: The Rattlers lost 3-1 at Kane County. The Rattler run scored when Leury Bonilla stole third and scored on a throwing error in the sixth. Rattler record after this game: 10-26
The 17-inning win over Fort Wayne makes the 4-4 record seem a lot cooler.
