Booker T. Washington graduate Mike Wilson has set a Seattle Mariners spring training record with eight homers.I think Wilson is going to have a very good start with Tacoma this season.
Wilson, 25, signed to play football with Oklahoma in 2001, but instead chose a baseball career a few months later after the Mariners drafted him in the second round. In seven pro seasons, he has never played above Double-A.
Wilson entered Friday ranked second in the majors in homers behind Philadelphia’s Ryan Howard, who had 10. Wilson also was tied for fifth with 19 RBIs and was hitting .266 in 64 at-bats.
