Saturday in the MWL

@Wisconsin 9, Dayton 6; Dayton 6, @Wisconsin 0 (5 innings)-- Which game got more play? The Rattlers rally for six runs in the bottom of the fifth in game one? Or, maybe the five inning no-hitter with eight strikeouts by Johnny Cueto? You would be right.

Peoria 4, @South Bend 2; @south Bend 7, Peoria 3 -- Splitsville in South Bend.

@Burlington 2, Quad Cities 1 (10 innings); @Burlington 2, Quad Cities 0 -- Bees score four runs in a doubleheader and sweep the Swing. Local boy Jeremy Jirschele drove in the winning run in the first game. Randy Roth's hitting streak ended at 19 games with an 0-fer in the first game.

@Lansing 5, West Michigan 3; West Michigan 8, @Lansing 4 -- Nothing solved in the doubleheader between the top two teams in the East.

@Clinton 5, Cedar Rapids 2 -- Four hits for the Kernels -- two of them home runs. Not nearly enough against the L-Kings. If the Kernels keep losing to Clinton, the LumberKings won't be so "lowly".

@Fort Wayne 4, Southwest Michigan 0 -- The Wizards apparently are +2 on all rolls against bats of power and their cloak of transformation gives their pitchers an extra spell two levels above their own.

Kane County @ Beloit (PPD) -- No game in Pohlman Field. A chance for tempers to cool a bit.
