Mariner System Report (Games of 5/12)

Seattle (MAJ: 15-22; 4th AL West): The Mariners were beaten 12-7 by the Angels last night. Joel Pineiro (WI ’98) gave up six runs on six hits in three innings. Bobby Livingston (WI ’03) gave up six runs on three hits and three walks in just 1/3 of an inning. Adrian Beltre and Jeremy Reed both homered for the Mariners.

Tacoma (AAA – 19-14; 3rd PCL Pacific Northern Division): Tacoma beat Round Rock 8-2. Clint Nageotte (WI ’01) gave up two runs on three hits over seven innings and struck out six to help the Rainiers to their third straight win. Rich Dorman (WI ’03) pitched in with four strikeouts over two scoreless, hitless innings. The Rainier offense banged out a five run fifth inning to put the game away.

San Antonio (AA – 11-20; 4th Texas League South Division): The Missions lost 6-3 to Frisco at home. San Antonio tied the game 3-3 with a three run bottom of the seventh. Jon Nelson (WI ’03) had a two-run single during the rally. But, Frisco scored three times in the top of the eighth for the win. Brian Schweiger (WI '06) made his first start at AA this season and there is Jeff Clement (WI '05) injury news at this roundup.

Inland Empire (High-A – 19-15; T-1st California League South Division): Inland Empire beat Stockton 6-1. Reed Eastley drove in three runs for the offense. Mumba Rivera (WI ’05) worked 3-2/3 innings out of the bullpen without allowing a run and striking out three for his third win of the season. Eric O’Flaherty (WI ’05) and Mike Hrynio (WI ’04) each pitched scoreless stints out of the bullpen for Inland Empire.
