Mariner System Report (Games of 5/13)

Seattle (MAJ: 16-22; 4th AL West): The Mariners beat the Angels 5-4 in thirteen innings. Richie Sexson homered in the top of the thirteenth for the winning run. JJ Putz (WI ’00) and Rafael Soriano (WI ’00) each did scoreless work out of the bullpen for Seattle.

Tacoma (AAA – 19-15; 3rd PCL Pacific Northern Division): The Rainiers lost 5-4 at home to Albuquerque. The Rainiers trailed 5-1 heading into the bottom of the ninth inning and scored three times to get close, but could not push the tying or winning run home. Rob Johnson (WI ’05), Adam Jones (WI ’04), TJ Bohn (WI ’03), and Chris Snelling (WI ’00) each had two hits for Tacoma.

San Antonio (AA – 12-20; 4th Texas League South Division): The Missions snapped a five game losing streak with a 6-3 win over Frisco. Jason Mackintosh (WI ’04) allowed one run on five hits over six innings for his second win. Brian Schweiger (WI ’06) had a pair of hits and drove in two runs for the Missions.


Inland Empire (High-A – 20-15; T-1st California League South Division): Inland Empire dropped Stockton 9-8. Mike Wilson (WI ’05) had three RBI and Omar Falcon (WI ’05) chipped in with two more for the 66ers. Justin Jordan (WI ’05) gave up five runs (four earned) over five innings for the win. Stockton staged a late rally, but fell short.
