SEATTLE (MAJ: 8-8, 3rd American League West): The Mariners beat Oakland 4-2. Felix Hernandez (’03) pitched a complete game, allowed one earned run, and struck out eight. Raul Ibanez (Foxes, ’94) had three hits, an RBI, and a run scored for Seattle.
TACOMA (AAA: 8-5, 2nd Pacific Coast League Pacific Northern Division): The Rainiers lost 8-1 at Fresno. Bryan LaHair (’04) drove in the only Tacoma run. Justin Thomas (’06) gave up five runs in five innings in his Triple-A debut.
WEST TENNESSEE (AA: 7-6, 3rd Southern League North Division): The Diamond Jaxx lost 5-2 at Mobile. Marshall Hubbard (’05) drove in a run for West Tennessee. Marwin Vega (’06) gave up five runs (four earned) in four innings to take the loss. Eric O’Flaherty (’04, ’05) pitched two scoreless innings in relief.
HIGH DESERT (High-A: 9-5, 1st California League South Division): The Mavericks beat Lake Elsinore 6-5 in ten innings. Carlos Peguero (’07) homered and drove in three runs for High Desert. Travis Scott (’06) also homered for the Mavs. Matt Mangini doubled in the winning run in the bottom of the tenth.
