Rattler History...Since 2000

Here is how the Rattlers have fared on April 18…since 2000

2000: The Rattlers lost 2-0 at Quad City. I was not at this game due to the Green Bay Gamblers being in the playoffs.

2001: The River Bandits beat the Rattlers 3-2 in 10 innings in Grand Chute. Here is how the winning run scored. Josh Rabe walked, went to second on an error, stole third, and scored on a wild pitch by John Butler.

2002: Wisconsin beat Quad Cities 2-1 in a rain-shortened game at Fox Cities Stadium. Luis Oliveros had a sac fly and Sean Peless hit his fifth homer of the season for the Rattler runs. Renee Cortez pitched five innings for the win. Dan Head worked a scoreless sixth right before the tarp went on the field.

2003: The six-game, four-day extravaganza in Beloit ended today. Beloit won game one of the doubleheader, just like they had in the first four games of the series with one exception…This one was ugly.

GAME ONE: Bobby Livingston allowed nine runs (five earned) over four innings and the Rattlers lost 9-2. John Vandenburg had three RBI and Mario Mendez homered.

GAME TWO: Wisconsin salvaged a win in the series with a 5-1 victory. Rich Dorman, who blew a save in game one of the series back on April 15, pitched 4.2 innings and allowed one unearned run. Meanwhile, Gary Harris tripled in a run and scored himself in the first inning. That was enough for the Rattlers.

2004: Peoria won 7-5 over the Rattlers in Grand Chute. Josh Womack lead off the bottom of the first inning with a home and the Rattlers had a 3-2 lead. Peoria had a 5-3 lead heading to the sixth. Then, Jeremy Dutton and Sam Bradford both homered in that frame to tie the game. But, the Chiefs got single runs in the seventh and eighth for the win.

2005: The Rattlers and Chiefs continued to trade blowouts in this series. Peoria won this one 10-5 at O’Brien Field. Ryan Harvey did most of the damage. He went 4-for-5 with three homers and seven RBI. Harvey came up in the bottom of the eighth inning with two outs, a runner at first, three homers on the score sheet, and grounded out.

2006: Southwest Michigan beat the Rattlers 4-1 in Grand Chute. Jake McGee struck out seven in five scoreless innings and Matt Devins drove in three runs for the Devil Rays.

2007: Rattlers 3-2 over the Snappers in 11 innings in Grand Chute. Greg Halman tied the game 2-2 with an RBI grounder in the sixth and drove in the winning run with a bases loaded single.

2-7 on April 18 since 2000. Even with the extra inning win at home last year, April 18 has not been a good day for the Rattlers
