Here is how the Rattlers have fared on April 17…since 2000
The Rattlers had a scheduled off day.
The River Bandits shutout the Rattlers 2-0 in Grand Chute. Rett Johnson allowed one unearned run on three hits over six innings and took the loss. The only Rattler hits in this game were a Jamie Bubela single in the second and a Chuck Lopez single in the sixth.
Quad Cities beat the Timber Rattlers 8-1. Joe Mauer went 2-for-4 with two RBI for the QC. Ryan Rowland-Smith had a tough day. His line: 2IP, 3H, 5R, 4ER, 3HB, 3BB, wild pitch, and two balks. Greg Dobbs drove in the only Rattler run of the game and that was in the first inning.
Beloit won the fourth straight in the series at Pohlman Field as they beat Wisconsin 8-4. Jeff Eure’s two-run double in the third inning put the Snappers up 3-2. They never looked back.
Peoria 7-2 over the Rattlers in Wisconsin. Brent Metheny had three hits and drove in both Rattler runs.
Rattlers with a 10-5 win at Peoria. Yung Chi Chen and Brent Johnson each had three hits, Marshall Hubbard homered, but Matt Tuiasosopo had four hits to lead the parade. Mumba Rivera allowed five runs, but Wisconsin had enough offense on this day.
Southwest Michigan 4, Rattlers 3 in ten innings. Luis Valbuena tied the game with a two-out RBI single in the bottom of the ninth. But, Garrett Groce knocked in the go-ahead run in the top of the tenth.
Beloit with a 5-2 win over the Rattlers in Grand Chute. Alex Liddi homered for the first time as a Rattler and Tony Butler pitched five scoreless frames. But the Snappers scored three times in the sixth and twice more in the eighth off the bullpen to send the Rattlers to the loss.
With a record of 1-6, I'm going to judge April 17 as a pretty crummy day in Rattler history...since 2000.
