Timber Rattler History…Since 2000
Here is how the Rattlers have fared on April 22…since 2000
2000: The Rattlers lost 4-1 to Peoria. I was not at this game due to the Green Bay Gamblers being in the playoffs.
2001: The Rattlers beat Burlington 5-2. The Bees tied the game 2-2 with a run off Dan Head in the top of the eighth inning on a throwing error. Wisconsin scored three times in the bottom of the eighth to retake the lead. Jake Daubert singled in the first run. Pedro Liriano, who was 4-for-4 on the night, tripled to drive in two runs. Chad Wiles worked a 1-2-3 ninth for the save.
2002: The Rattlers had a scheduled off day.
2003: The Rattlers beat Cedar Rapids 1-0 in thirteen innings. Tanner Watson, Rich Dorman, Bryan Heaston, and Cesar Jimenez combined on the four-hit shutout. Wisconsin loaded the bases in the thirteenth. A throwing error on a force out attempt at the plate got the winning run home.
2004: Wisconsin and Burlington split a doubleheader at Fox Cities Stadium.
GAME ONE: Ryan Feierabend tossed a seven inning complete game shutout. He gave up four hits and struck out three. Chris Colton drew a bases loaded walk to force in the only run Feierabend needed in a 4-0 win.
GAME TWO: The Bees beat the Rattlers 3-1. Kila Kaaihue hit a homer in the fourth inning off Juan Ovalles to snap a 1-1 tie. Walter Sevilla hit another solo homer off Ovalles in the fifth inning to account for the final score.
2005: The Rattlers won 5-4 in eleven innings at home over Burlington. David Hall’s RBI double in the bottom of the eighth inning tied the game. Oswaldo Navarro scored the winning run on a wild pitch.
2006: South Bend beat the Rattlers 9-7 at the Cove. The Silver Hawks scored seven runs in the bottom of the third off Jason Snyder. A three-run homer by Orlando Mercado was the big hit of the inning.
2007: West Michigan beat the Rattlers 8-2 in West Michigan. Tony Butler allowed two runs in 5.2IP, but took the loss as the Whitecaps pulled away late against the bullpen.
The Rattlers are 4-4 on April 22 since 2000. Mediocre day but there have been some good games.
