SEATTLE (MAJ: 17-27 4th American League West): The Mariners beat San Diego 4-2. Raul Ibanez (Foxes, ’94) drove in a run to help out Erick Bedard’s 10-strikeout performance.
TACOMA (AAA: 22-19, 2nd Pacific Coast League Pacific Northern Division): The Rainiers lost 9-3 to Tucson. Emiliano Fruto (’02) pitched two scoreless innings in relief for the Sidewinders. Ryan Feierabend (’02) allowed three runs over three innings for a no-decision as Tacoma did not score after the second inning.
WEST TENNESSEE (AA: 26-16, 2nd Southern League North Division): The Diamond Jaxx beat Mobile 8-7 in eleven innings. Luis Valbuena (’06) hit a game-winning homer in the bottom of the eleventh for West Tennessee. Valbuena was 3-for-6 with four RBI in the game.
HIGH DESERT (High-A: 19-24, T-1st California League South Division): The Mavericks lost 8-2 at Rancho Cucamonga. Carlos Peguero (’07) had three hits and an RBI for the Mavericks, but the Quakes pulled away for the win.
