Today's Rattler Starter (5/17)

RHP NATHAN ADCOCK: Selected by the Mariners in the fifth round of the 2006 draft out of North Hardin (KY) High School.

LAST SEASON: Adcock started 2007 with the Timber Rattlers. He was 2-8 with a 3.70 ERA in 17 appearances (16 starts). Opponents scored 60 runs in 87-2/3 innings pitched, but only 36 of those runs were earned. He was promoted to High Desert on July 20 and went 1-3 with an 8.84 ERA in five starts. In his two stops in the Mariner system, Adcock struck out 77 and walked 60 in 106 innings.

LAST WIN: Adcock picked up his first win of the season with seven shutout innings at Great Lakes on May 6. He struck out a career high nine batters and walked just one in a 6-0 win over the Loons.

LAST START: Adcock got a no decision despite pitching 6-2/3 scoreless innings against Burlington on May 12. He matched his career high for strikeouts in a game with nine and allowed four hits with two walk, but the Rattlers did not score in the game and eventually lost 1-0 in 10 innings.

SCORELESS SKEIN: Adcock has not allowed a run since a two-out RBI single by Darin Mastroianni of Lansing in the second inning on May 1. Since then, Adcock has gone 17 innings without an opponent scoring on him.

VS. KANE COUNTY: Adcock got his first professional win against the Cougars on May22, 2007. That is his only appearance against Kane County. He allowed three runs on six hits over six innings in a 6-5 Rattler victory.
