On the phone to Saunders in the Jaxx stadium in Jackson, Tennessee, the thud of batting practice could be heard in the background. He spoke about the adjustments he’s had to make at this level as a hitter.
“The biggest thing I’ve noticed is each pitcher can command and control their off-speed stuff for strikes. That’s the biggest thing as a hitter. (At double A) you start to see 2-0 and 3-1 changeups and cutters and sinkers. The game is faster and the level of competition is high.”
Pretty good stuff on a popular former Rattler.
