Rattler History...Since 2000

Here is how the Rattlers have fared on May 19…since 2000

2000: The Rattlers lost 7-6 to West Michigan at home. Matt Thornton came on in relief and allowed four runs in the ninth inning. Rattler record after this game: 19-19

2001: Cedar Rapids beat the Rattlers 5-4 in Grand Chute. The Kernels scored three runs in the ninth inning to erase a 4-2 Wisconsin lead. The final two runs scored on a pinch-hit homer by Zach Roper off John Butler. Rattler record after this game: 26-16.

2002: The Rattlers lost 5-2 to Peoria at home. Tanner Watson gave up a run in the first and four in the second. Greg Dobbs hit a solo homer and the other Rattler run scored when Dobbs grounded into a double play with runners at the corners. Rattler record after this game: 19-23.

2003: The Rattlers won 4-1 at Peoria. BOBBY! Livingston allowed a run on four hits over eight innings to run his record to 6-1. Michael Garciaparra drove in three of the four Rattler runs. Rattler record after this game: 24-18

2004: The Rattlers were off. Rattler record on this date: 16-23

2005: The Rattlers beat Clinton 3-1 at home. Mumba Rivera allowed one run over seven innings and ran his record to 6-0 when the Rattlers scored three unearned runs in the bottom of the seventh. Rattler record after this game: 22-18

2006: Kane County beat the Rattlers 5-1 in Geneva. The Cougars scored five runs in the second inning off Ruben Flores to put the game away early. Rattler record after this game: 17-24

2007: Rattlers lost 7-4 to Lansing at home. Tony Butler took the loss and threw 70 pitched in two innings. Rattler record after this game: 11-28

A 2-5 record with a couple of soul-crushing losses (I’m looking at you, May 19, 2000 and May 19, 2001) offset a couple of fine performances by BOBBY! and Mumba Rivera. I really don’t like this day.
