Expanding on a thought

Last night, it was Marc Katz' turn to query Midwest League President George Spelius on a familiar topic.

Midwest League could see realignment
Midwest League President George Spelius made his annual trek to Fifth Third Field on Friday, July 11, and said he was waiting to hear from the National Association about realignment.

"The National Association wants to do something," Spelius said. "They came up during our All-Star break and made a presentation."
...

"They said they'd get back to us in a couple weeks, and it's been four," Spelius said of the NA. There is also speculation for three 10-team leagues, but that would take massive movement and is unlikely.

That is the first that I have heard of three 10-team leagues. There are three High-A leagues and three Double-A leagues, but it is not an equal split.

HIGH-A
California League: 10 teams
Florida State League: 12 teams
Carolina League: 8 teams

DOUBLE-A
Eastern League: 12 teams
Southern League: 10 teams
Texas League: 8 teams

Maybe I will do some idle speculation on this Three Low-A League idea tomorrow night after the game.
