Mariner System Report (Games of 7/20)

SEATTLE (MAJ: 38-60 4th American League West): The Mariners lost 6-2 to Cleveland. Carlos Silva allowed four runs on four hits over three innings to take the loss. Cliff Lee scattered eleven hits in a complete game victory for the Indians. JJ Putz (’00) worked a scoreless inning in his first major league appearance off the Seattle disabled list.

TACOMA (AAA: 50-51, 3rd Pacific Coast League Pacific Northern Division): The Rainiers beat Tucson 10-6. Wladimir Balentien (’04) and Rob Johnson (’05) hit home runs for Tacoma. Emiliano Fruto (’02) took the loss for the Sidewinders. Johnson home run was hit in front of a new fan.

WEST TENNESSEE (AA: 52-48, 11-19 5th Southern League North Division): The Diamond Jaxx lost 6-2 to Jacksonville. Adam Moore (’06) had three hits and drove in a run for West Tennessee in the loss.

HIGH DESERT (High-A: 43-57, 11-19 second half 5th California League South Division): The Mavericks lost 13-1 to Lancaster. Gavin Dickey (’08) went 3-for-3 with a run scored for High Desert, but Lancaster hit five home runs in the game.

EVERETT (Short Season-A: 15-18, 2nd Northwest League Western Division): The AquaSox lost 9-6 at Boise. Luis Nunez (’07) and Kevin Reynolds (’08) had two RBI a piece or Everett. Walter Suriel (’08) pitched five innings and had a 5-3 lead when he left. But, the Sox bullpen could not hold on to the lead.

PULASKI (Rookie: 22-10, 1st Appalachian League East Division): The M’s beat Danville 5-2. Kyle Haas pitched six shutout innings, allowed two hits, and struck out six for the win.

PEORIA (Rookie: 9-14 8th Arizona League): The AZL M’s game with the Angels was rained out.
