LH EDWARD PAREDES:
Signed as a non-drafted free agent out of the Dominican Republic by Seattle in May, 2005.


RATINGS: Baseball America ranks Paredes as the #22 prospect in the Seattle Mariner system.

BRAVO: Paredes took a no-hitter into the bottom of the eighth inning at Cedar Rapids on May 21. He allowed a two-out single to Anel De Los Santos, but finished the eighth without allowing another hit. The Rattlers beat the Kernels 1-0. Paredes struck out four and walked two for the win.

AWARD WINNER: Paredes was named the Midwest League pitcher of the week on May 26 for his performance on May 21.

LAST START: Paredes won his second consecutive start with a victory at Beloit on July 21. He allowed four runs (three earned) on six hits over 5-2/3 innings, but the Rattlers went on to a 12-6. Paredes gave up three first inning runs, but settled down after that.

VS.BELOIT: Paredes is 1-1 against the Snappers this season. In his other appearance against the Snappers, Paredes lost at Beloit on April 18. He allowed four runs on three hits over three innings with three walks and three strikeouts. The Rattlers lost 5-3 in a five inning, rain-shortened game.
