Tonight's Rattler Starting Pitcher (7/19)

RH BRETT LORIN was selected by the Seattle Mariners in the 5th round of the 2008 draft.

TAKE TO THE HILLS: Lorin was 4-6 with a 1.94ERA in his senior season at Dana Hills High School in Dana Point, California. He tossed a no-hitter as a senior there in 2005.

WILDCATS: Lorin redshirted in 2006 at the University of Arizona. He would appear in six games as a reliever in 2007 without a decision. In 9-2/3 innings pitched, Lorin allowed 10 runs on 14 hits with seven walks and nine strikeouts.

I THOUGHT YOU WERE FROM LONG BEACH: Lorin transferred to Long Beach State after the 2007 season. In his only season with the 49ers, he went 5-3 with a 2.61ERA in 15 games (8 starts). Lorin struck out 31 and walked 14 over 48-1/3 innings pitched.

OUT IN THE NORTHWEST: Lorin began his professional career with the Everett AquaSox. He appeared in five games (all starts) for the Northwest League affiliate of the Mariners. Lorin went 1-0 with a 2.82 ERA and struck out 29 while walking nine in 22-1/3 innings pitched.

LAST START: Lorin made his Midwest League debut on July 13 at Fort Wayne. He pitched six shutout innings and allowed four hits. He also walked four and struck out two, but received a no decision. Wisconsin held a 1-0 lead until the Wizards scored twice in the bottom of the ninth to beat the Rattlers 2-1.

LAST WIN: Lorin got his first professional win on June 22 against the Boise Hawks. He allowed one run on three hits and over six innings in a 2-1 Everett win at home. Lorin struck out 13 and did not walk a batter in the game.

VS. BELOIT: Lorin is making his first appearance against the Snappers tonight.

VS. TWINS: This will be Lorin’s first appearance against an affiliate of the Minnesota Twins.
