SEATTLE (MAJ: 38-65 4th American League West): The Mariners lost 8-3 at Toronto. The loss was Seattle’s seventh in a row, but that wasn't the main story after the game.
TACOMA (AAA: 54-53, 3rd Pacific Coast League Pacific Northern Division): The Rainiers beat Memphis 8-7. Tacoma scored seven times in the top of the ninth inning to rally from a 6-1 deficit. Michael Saunders (’06) hit a three-run homer in the top of the ninth to help the Rainiers pick up the win.
WEST TENNESSEE (AA: 55-50, 14-21 5th Southern League North Division): The Diamond Jaxx lost 6-1 at Chattanooga. Jon Nelson (’03) homered for West Tennessee’s only run.
HIGH DESERT (High-A: 47-59, 15-21 second half 5th California League South Division): The Mavericks lost 10-9 at Lancaster. Carlos Triunfel (’07) went 3-for-3 with three runs and an RBI. High Desert led 9-3, but could not hold off the JetHawks.
EVERETT (Short Season-A: 16-23, 4th Northwest League Western Division): The AquaSox lost 3-2 to Spokane. Kevin Reynolds (’08) drove in both runs for Everett.
PULASKI (Rookie: 24-14, 1st Appalachian League East Division): The M’s won 14-6 over Princeton.
PEORIA (Rookie: 9-18 8th Arizona League): The AZL M’s were off on Saturday.
