Mariner System Report (Games of 5/2)

Seattle (MAJ: 12-16; 4th AL West): Seattle lost 5-1 at Minnesota. Jarrod Washburn gave up four runs in the second inning and took the loss. Willie Bloomquist drove in the only Mariner run with a first inning single. Santana was smooth and needed no help from Michelle Branch.

Tacoma (AAA – 14-10; 2nd PCL Pacific Northern Division): Tacoma lost 4-2 at Colorado Springs. Rob Johnson (WI ’05) had a pair of hits and an RBI for the Rainiers. However, Tacoma could not rally from an early 4-0 deficit. Plus, Todd Helton was on a rehab assignment from the Rockies.

San Antonio (AA – 10-15; 4th Texas League South Division): The Missions scored five times in the bottom of the fifth inning and beat Springfield 7-3. Gary Harris (WI ’03) had three hits, scored a pair of runs, and drove in one for San Antonio. Michael Garciaparra (WI ’03) also chipped in with three hits. Chad Fillinger (WI ’05) pitched two more shutout innings in relief to help out the Missions.

Inland Empire (High-A – 14-11; 2nd California League South Division): Inland Empire beat Lake Elsinore 4-3. Yung Chi Chen (WI '05) had a pair of hits and scored two runs.
