Mariner System Report (Games of 5/4)

Seattle (MAJ: 12-18; 4th AL West): Seattle lost 4-1 to the White Sox. Felix Hernandez (WI ’03) gave up a three-run homer to Jim Thome in the first inning and the Mariner offense managed just five hits. Bobby Livingston (WI ’03) pitched three shutout innings out of the bullpen with one hit and one strikeout.

Tacoma (AAA – 15-10; 2nd PCL Pacific Northern Division): Tacoma’s game at Colorado Springs was suspended by fog in the top of the 3rd inning. The game will not be picked up until the Rainiers return to Colorado Springs in August.

San Antonio (AA – 11-15; 4th Texas League South Division): The Missions won 9-6 at Arkansas. Jon Nelson (WI ’03) homered and drove in a pair of runs. Michael Garciaparra (WI ’03) had three hits and scored a pair of runs.

Inland Empire (High-A – 15-12; 2nd California League South Division): Lake Elsinore beat Inland Empire 3-0. The 66ers had nine hits, but couldn’t cross the plate one night after scoring nineteen runs. Brent Johnson (WI ’05) had two hits for the offense. Ivan Blanco (WI ’05) and Eric O’Flaherty (WI ’05) pitched well, but Blanco got the loss.
