Midwest League Action -- 7/17

Complete 7/17 scoreboard HERE.

@Beloit 4, Rattlers 3: Second walk-off walk of the road trip.

@Dayton 11, Cedar Rapids 4: Dayton only scored in one inning...it was enough.

@Fort Wayne 12, Clinton 0: Wizards with another near-miss on a no-hitter. How close of a near-miss....

Stephen Faris walked toward home plate and yelled “it wasn’t even close” to umpire Alex Ortiz.

Fort Wayne manager Doug Dascenzo came out to argue with Ortiz, to no avail. Ortiz ruled that John Whittleman’s seventh-inning ground ball down the first-base line was a fair ball. The controversial call ended Faris’ no-hit bid.

@West Michigan 6, Kane County 3: Rebounds count in baseball, too.

Peoria 8, @South Bend 3: Chiefs pack a wallop.

Quad Cities 13, @Great Lakes 7: The SWING show the Looooooons what they are all about.

Burlington 4, @Lansing 2: Go Bees!!
