BOBBY!!

Livingston earns another start

ATLANTA - The phone in Bobby Livingston's hotel room rang Tuesday morning and the left-hander jumped.

Just because he pitched well on Monday didn't guarantee he wouldn't be finding his way to Louisville - Livingston didn't give up an earned run or an extra base hit in 6 2/3 innings in Colorado last month and he still found a ticket to Louisville greeting him.

So when the phone rang on Tuesday morning, the fact that he'd improved to 2-0 with a 3.18 ERA following Monday's victory over the Braves did little to calm the rookie's nerves.

It turned out not to be a return to the minor leagues, but a wrong number.

Livingston can rest easy for the next couple of days - he's penciled in to start Saturday's game in Florida. If he does well then, he could make his Great American Ball Park debut on July 24 against the Milwaukee Brewers. Although Livingston is in his third stint with the Reds, he's only spent a single day in the clubhouse at Great American Ball Park.

Remember, Bobby pitched against Rickie Weeks, Prince Fielder, and Tony Gwyn, Jr in 2003 when they were in Beloit and Livingston was a Rattler. Should be interesting if that happens at the major league level.
