SEATTLE (MAJ: 52-38; 2nd AL West): The Mariners beat Baltimore 4-2. Horacio Ramirez got the win. JJ Putz (’00) pitched a scoreless ninth for his 27th save of the season. Raul Ibanez (Foxes, ’94) drove in a run for Seattle.
TACOMA (AAA: 42-54; 3rd Pacific Coast League Pacific Northern Division): The Rainiers lost 10-7 at Salt Lake. Rob Johnson (’05) homered and drove in three runs for Tacoma. But, Tomo Ohka got crushed in his debut for the Rainiers.
WEST TENNESSEE (AA: 39-56 overall; 8-17 second half; 5th second half Southern League North Division): The Diamond Jaxx were off on Monday.
HIGH DESERT (High-A: 38-57 overall; 7-18 second half; 5th second half California League South Division): The Mavericks lost 9-6 to Lake Elsinore. Michael Saunders (’06) went 3-for-5 with a pair of RBI and a pair of runs for High Desert. But, the Storm wound up with the sweep of the Mavs.
EVERETT (Short Season-A: 11-16; 4th Northwest League West Division): The AquaSox lost 3-1 at Salem-Keizer. Greg Halman (’07) homered in the first innings for Everett’s only run. But, Volcano pitchers struck out seventeen in the win.
AZL Mariners (Rookie: 14-6; T-1st Arizona League): The AZL M’s were off on Monday.
