SEATTLE (MAJ: 53-39; 2nd AL West): The Mariners were off on Thursday.
TACOMA (AAA: 43-56; 3rd Pacific Coast League Pacific Northern Division): The Rainiers lost 9-8 at Salt Lake. Oswaldo Navarro (’05) homered and drove in a pair of runs for Tacoma. The Rainiers had an 8-4 lead after scoring five times in the top of the sixth inning. But, the Bees scored one run in the sixth and four in the seventh for the win.
WEST TENNESSEE (AA: 42-56 overall; 11-17 second half; 5th second half Southern League North Division): The Diamond Jaxx beat Mobile 4-2. Matt Tuiasosopo (’05) drove in a pair of runs. Mark Lowe (’05) pitched a scoreless inning of relief. Craig James (’05) got the win and Mumba Rivera (’05) got the save.
HIGH DESERT (High-A: 39-59 overall; 8-20 second half; 5th second half California League South Division): The Mavericks lost 11-2 to Modesto. Jeffrey Dominguez (’06) homered in the first inning to give High Desert a 2-1 lead. But, Marwin Vega (’06) gave up four runs on ten hits over six innings for the loss.
EVERETT (Short Season-A: 13-17; 4th Northwest League West Division): The AquaSox beat Boise 5-4 in thirteen innings. Craig Hurba went 3-for-3 with a homer and two RBI for the Sox. The Hawks took a 4-3 lead with a run in the top of the thirteenth, but Everett scored twice in the bottom of the inning for the win.
AZL Mariners (Rookie: 16-7; 1st Arizona League): The AZL M’s lost 13-9 to the Athletics.
