Rattler History...Since 2000

Timber Rattler History…Since 2000

Here is how the Rattlers have fared on April 14…since 2000

2000: The Rattlers lost 7-5 to West Michigan at home. I was not at this game. Green Bay Gambler Playoff game.

2001: Wisconsin shutout Beloit 5-0 in Grand Chute. Hawkeye Wayne, Erik Grunwald, and Chad Wiles combined on the five-hit shutout. Blake Bone hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the first inning for the only runs Wisconsin would need.

2002: Kane County beat the Rattlers 3-1 in Illinois. The Rattlers got a first inning run on an RBI single by Alejandro Cadena and decent pitching from Tanner Watson and Emiliano Fruto, but it wasn’t enough.

2003: The Rattlers won 4-2 in Burlington. The game was tied 1-1 in the top off the eighth. Then, Matt Hagen hit a three-run homer to put the Rattlers in front.

2004: The Rattlers beat Burlington 1-0 in Burlington, despite managing two hits in the game. In the sixth inning, Oswaldo Navarrro doubled and went to third on an errant pick-off throw. An error by second baseman Adam Keim on an Adam Jones grounder allowed Navarro to score. Tom Oldham, Bryan Heaston, Brandon Perry, and Brian Stitt combined on the four-hit shutout victory.

2005: The Rattlers beat the SWING 1-0 in Grand Chute and ran their record to 6-1. Aaron Jensen, Steve Grasley, and Chad Fillinger combined on the six-hitter. Rob Johnson’s two-out, RBI single in the third accounted for the only run of the game.

2006: The Rattlers lost 4-2 to the Kernels in Grand Chute. Marwin Vega allowed a run in the first and three unearned runs in the second. The Rattler hitters never got on track against Stephen Marek or any of the other three Kernel pitchers.

2007: The Rattlers won 6-3 at Cedar Rapids. Ricky Orta got the win, Natividad Dilone the save, and Greg Halman drove in a pair of runs.

The Rattlers were 5-3 on April 14. A day for 1-0 wins and shutouts.
