Here is how the Rattlers have fared on April 15…since 2000
2000: Rattlers 5-4 win over West Michigan in Grand Chute. Aquilino Lopez got the win with seven scoreless innings. Sean Parnell of UW-Oshkosh had three RBI and Danny Delgado got the last two outs for the save.
2001: Rattlers won 4-2 in 13 innings at Peoria’s Vonachen Stadium. This game started at 6:04pm. A rain delay of just over an hour started at 6:34pm. The awesomely named Sandy Santana singled in two runs in the bottom of the eighth to tie the game. In the thirteenth, Blake Bone scored on a wild pitch by Santo Samora. Jamal Strong drew a bases loaded walk to force in another run. Russ Morgan pitched the final two innings for the win.
2002: Rattlers lost 7-3 at Kane County. Pat Barnes allowed six runs on eight hits in four innings. Rattler defense committed three errors and left eleven on base in this one.
2003: Beloit sweeps a doubleheader from the Rattlers at Pohlman Field by scores of 3-2 and 5-3.
Game one: This was a tough loss for the Rattlers as they started a six-game, four-day series against their in-state rivals. Gary Harris tied the game 2-2 with a homer in the sixth. An error allowed Carlos Arroyo to score the go-ahead run in the top of the seventh. But, in the bottom of the seventh, Callix Crabbe doubled off Rich Dorman to drive in the tying run with two outs to send the game to extra innings. An RBI single by Steve Moss in the ninth off Oscar Delgado gave the Snappers the win.
Game two: Some guy named Prince Fielder hit a homer off Caesar Jimenez early in the game.
2004: Third shutout of the series and second straight Rattler shutout as Wisconsin won 2-0 at Burlington. Brandon Moorhead, Mike Hrynio, Jason Mackintosh, and Kenly Chang combined on the three-hit shutout. Adam Jones and Jeremy Dutton had the RBI for the Rattlers.
2005: Rattlers beat Peoria 14-2 at O’Brien Field. Rob Johnson homered and drove in four. Jack Arroyo drove in three runs. Jason Snyder allowed one run on four hits over five innings for the win. The Rattlers were 7-1 at this point in the season.
2006: Cedar Rapids beat the Rattlers 5-3 in Grand Chute. Flint Wipke had a two-run double in the fifth that put the Kernels up 3-2. The Rattlers got their runs on an error, a wild pitch, and an RBI grounder by Eddy Hernandez.
2007: The Kernels beat the Rattlers 8-3 in Cedar Rapids. They were up 5-0 on Nathan Adcock after three innings, although four of the five Timber Rattler errors in the game had a lot to do with that. Gerardo Avila was 2-for-2, but hurt himself sliding into second for his second double of the game in the fifth inning.
Tax day is not a great day in Timber Rattler history. They are 4-5 on April 15...since 2000
