LH EDWARD PAREDES: Signed as a non-drafted free agent out of the Dominican Republic by Seattle in May, 2005.

DSL: Paredes started his pro career with Seattle’s team in the Dominican Summer League in 2005 with a 3-0 record, a save, and a 2.02ERA in 12 games.

REPEAT: In 2006, Paredes went back to the DSL and was 3-3 with 14 saves and a 2.63ERA in 24 games.

WHAT A WAY TO START: Paredes made an emergency start for Tacoma (PCL) on June 14, 2007 for his first appearance in the US. He pitched five no-hit innings with a walk and five strikeouts vs. Tucson on June 14.

UP IN EVERETT: Paredes went 7-6 in 16 appearances (15 starts) for Everett in 2007. He led the Northwest League in wins and innings pitched (85.2). He was named to the Northwest League All-Star squad. Paredes was also honored as the Most Valuable Pitcher on Everett by Seattle.

RATINGS: Baseball America ranks Paredes as the #22 prospect in the Seattle Mariner system.

VS. CLINTON: Paredes is making his Midwest League debut against the LumberKings tonight.

VS. RANGERS: Paredes faced Spokane, the Northwest League affiliate of the Texas Rangers, twice in 2007. On July 25, Spokane beat Paredes as he gave up four runs on seven hits over seven innings. On August 21, Paredes got the win when he allowed one run on two hits over seven innings with six strikeouts.
