Midwest League Action: Games of August 15, 2009

Complete scoreboard

Beloit 4 @Wisconsin 2: Beloit roughed up Wisconsin Timber Rattlers starter Jeff Suppan, totaling five hits and four earned runs off the rehabbing Milwaukee Brewers pitcher in collecting the Midwest League victory at Fox Cities Stadium on Saturday.

@Quad Cities 3, Peoria 2 (10 innings): Ryde Rodriguez and patience are not frequent companions. That changed Saturday, when the Quad-Cities outfielder waited for his pitch and lined a full-count, bases-loaded single into left field to give the River Bandits a 3-2, 10-inning, walk-off win over Peoria.

Cedar Rapids 6 @Clinton 2: The Clinton LumberKings gave highly regarded starter Maikel Cleto no run support in his return from the disabled list.

@Burlington 8, Kane County 1: The Bees came into the game hitting just .175 in 14 previous games against the Cougars this season, but broke out of their hitting slump early in this game.

South Bend 12 @West Michigan 3: The Fifth Third Ballpark crowd of 7,474 was treated to a double-dose of fireworks Saturday night. The post-game fireworks they thoroughly enjoyed. The pounding the South Bend Silver Hawks put on the Whitecaps in West Michigan's 12-3 loss was hard to stomach.

@Fort Wayne 7, Dayton 1: Fort Wayne improved to 80-39 overall (35-14 in the second half). The 80 wins surpass the previous single-season victory mark of 79, established in 1998.

Great Lakes 7 @Lansing 5: Loooons version | Lugnuts version
