Mariner System Report (Games of 4/3)

SEATTLE (MAJ: 2-1 American League West): The Mariners were off on Thursday.

TACOMA (AAA: 1-0 Pacific Coast League Pacific Northern Division): The Rainiers won their season opening game with a 2-0 win over Sacramento. Ryan Feierabend (’02) allowed four hits and struck out seven over six shutout innings for the win. Yung Chi Chen (’05) and Wladimir Balentien (’04) drove in the runs for the Rainiers. Caesar Jimenez (’03) struck out two in a scoreless ninth for the save.

WEST TENNESSEE (AA: 0-1 Southern League North Division): The Diamond Jaxx lost 6-3 at Jacksonville. Adam Moore (’06) hit a two-run homer in the top of the first inning to give West Tennessee the early lead. But, Rene Rivera (’03) hit a two-run homer to lead the Suns on the way back to the win.

HIGH DESERT (High-A: 1-0 California League South Division): The Mavericks beat Lancaster 9-8. High Desert scored three runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to rally for the win. Carlos Peguero (’07) drove in four runs, including the tying run in the bottom of the ninth. Kuo Hui Lo (’07) drove in the winning run. Joe Kantakevich (’07) allowed a run in the top of the ninth inning, but picked up the win.
