Milwaukee Brewers Report: Games of July 21, 2009

MILWAUKEE (MAJ: 48-46; T-2nd National League Central): The Brewers won 2-0 at Pittsburgh. Braden Looper pitched seven shutout innings for the win. Prince Fielder drove in both Milwaukee runs.

NASHVILLE (AAA: 53-42; 1st Pacific Coast League American North Division): The Sounds were rained out in Memphis. Heether hit his eleventh homer of the season and drove in a pair of runs.

HUNTSVILLE (AA: 49-46 overall, 11-15 second half; 4th Southern League North Division): The Stars lost 4-3 to Carolina. Vinny Rottino hit his fourth homer of the year to tie the game 3-3 in the fourth inning for Huntsville, but the Mudcats scored in the top of the eighth and held on for the win. Lorenzo Cain (’09) went 1-for-5 and hit leadoff for the Stars.

BREVARD COUNTY (High-A: 55-32 overall, 15-8 second half; 2nd Florida State League North Division): The Manatees beat Jupiter 5-1. Logan Schafer hit a grand slam in the fourth inning to break a 1-1 tie.

HELENA (SHORT SEASON ROOKIE: 15-12; 1st Pioneer League North Division): The Brewers won 8-4 at Casper. Eric Arnett, Milwaukee’s first round draft pick in 2009, pitched three scoreless and hitless innings as the starter and was not involved in the decision.

AZL BREWERS (ROOKIE: 11-14; 4th Arizona League East Division): The Brewers beat the Giants 5-3.
