Quad Cities 7 @Wisconsin 0: The Rattlers, held scoreless for the eighth time this season, were unable to get a hit in seven at-bats with runners in scoring position.

@Dayton 2, Burlington 0:
Breaking up is hard to do, but it worked Friday night, July 31, for the Dragons at Fifth Third Field.

Earlier in the week, the parent-club Reds promoted one of the team’s two 8-game winners, Matt Fairel, to Sarasota.

Friday, just an hour before game time, the other 8-game winner, Curtis Partch — scheduled to pitch — was told to get his stuff and get to Sarasota as well.

“We had a good hand and they shuffled the deck on us,” said Dragons manager Todd Benzinger. “It didn’t work against us.”
Cedar Rapids 5 @West Michigan 3: The West Michigan Whitecaps now know what it feels like to get hit by a Mack truck driven by a Cedar Rapids Kernel.

Beloit 3 @Fort Wayne 2: Fort Wayne has the best record in all of professional baseball. Beloit has the worst in the Midwest League. None of that mattered Friday.
