Milwaukee Brewers Report: Games of August 7, 2009

MILWAUKEE (MAJ: 54-55; T-3rd National League Central): The Brewers lost 6-3 at Houston. Carlos Villanueva allowed four runs over 5-1/3 innings and took the loss.

NASHVILLE (AAA: 61-53; 1st Pacific Coast League American North Division): The Sounds split a pair of games at Colorado Springs. Nashville lost the completion of Wednesday’s suspended game 4-3 on a run in the bottom of the ninth. Lindsay Gulin (’98) tossed a 7-inning complete game in a 5-2 win in the regularly scheduled game.

HUNTSVILLE (AA: 53-57 overall, 15-26 second half; 4th Southern League North Division): The Stars lost 8-4 to Mississippi. The Stars scored three runs in the bottom of the first inning, but could not hold on for the win.

BREVARD COUNTY (High-A: 64-38 overall, 24-14 second half; 2nd Florida State League North Division): The Manatees beat the Daytona Cubs 3-0. Amaury Rivas won his tenth game of the season by tossing seven innings, allowing three hits, and striking out seven.

HELENA (SHORT SEASON ROOKIE: 21-21; 1-3 second half; 4th Pioneer League North Division): The Brewers were rained out in Billings.

AZL BREWERS (ROOKIE: 16-22; 4-6 second half; 5th Arizona League East Division): The Brewers were off on Friday.
