Friday's scoreboard
Dayton at Wisconsin: PPD
West Michigan at Clinton: PPD
Fort Wayne 11, @Beloit 1: As temperatures dipped into the 30s and rain pestered the few fans on and off all night, the Snappers played their worse game of the season, falling 11-1 to Fort Wayne. The Wizards had lost their previous seven games, but found some turtle soup to be the best remedy for a losing streak.
Kane County 10, @Peoria 3: Kane County fourth. The Cougars batted around and put seven runs on the board behind a combination of two walks, a hit batsman, two errors, two singles and Corey Brown's mammoth home run to right field to end the innings scoring.
@Cedar Rapids 1, Lansing 0: [Jordan] Walden did not pop any 100s during a damp and dreary game at Memorial Stadium last night, but he was tough enough as the Cedar Rapids Kernels blanked Lansing, 1-0, for their third shutout in a row.
@Burlington 6, Great Lakes 2: "It was nice to score some runs early knowing in this kind of weather runs are going to be hard to come by," said Bees manager Brian Rupp.
@Quad Cities 5, South Bend 1: “Growing up in Florida, I’ve never pitched in anything like that before. It was brutal. I just tried to not think about it and get as many quick outs as I could,’’ [River Bandit pitcher Nick] Additon said. The plan worked.
