From the game notes of the Great Lakes Loons...

Great Lakes is 4-1 at home in the second half and has won seven of its last nine games.

The Great Lakes Loons have their first member of the Los Angeles Dodgers' 2009 draft class with the addition of Angelo Songco on Wednesday. Songco was the Dodgers' fourth-round pick (127th overall) in this year's draft and was assigned to Ogden of the Pioneer League after signing with the Dodgers following the draft. Songco hit .270 with seven home runs and 22 RBI in 19 games with Ogden before being promoted to the Loons. He replaces Austin Gallagher, whose season is over because of an injury to his shoulder, on the roster. Songco played his college baseball at Loyola Marymount University, where he was a semifinalist for the Golden Spikes Award, given annually to the nation's top amateur baseball player.
