Wisconsin 2 @Burlington 1: "The other night I was talking to (pitching coach) Jerry (Nyman) and I looked at our lineup and I told him, 'This is the best lineup we've had all year. This is the best lineup I've had in Burlington since I've been here,'" Gabella said. "But that's on paper."

Beloit 4 @Peoria 1: About the only person who got everything they wanted was Beloit Snappers starting pitcher Michael Tarsi.

It took the Kernels a while to get a hit Saturday, but when they finally did it had the explosive impact of July 4th fireworks.

Cedar Rapids was held without a hit for seven innings. In the eighth, Angel Castillo followed a leadoff walk with a two-run homer that ended Quad Cities pitcher Arquimedes Nieto’s no-hit bid, chased him from the mound and gave the Kernels a 2-0 victory at Memorial Stadium.
@West Michigan 5, Dayton 1: "We've got guys who go out and battle pitch-by-pitch every night. We've got grinders and when you grind every night, good things are going to happen," DePastino said.

South Bend 7 @Lansing 3: South Bend broke a 3-3 tie with two runs in the seventh inning and added two more in the eighth and went on to a 7-3 victory over the Lansing Lugnuts on Saturday night in front of 11,160 fans at Oldsmobile Park.
