Milwaukee Brewers Report: Games of July 3, 2009

MILWAUKEE (MAJ: 42-38; 2nd National League Central): The Brewers lost 2-1 in 10 innings to the Cubs at Wrigley Field. A bases loaded walk in the bottom of the tenth gave Chicago the win.

NASHVILLE (AAA: 46-36; 1st Pacific Coast League American North Division): The Sounds won 3-1 at Round Rock. Manny Parra pitched seven shutout innings, allowed two hits, walked two, and struck out seven for the win. Hernan Iribarren drove in two runs for the Nashville.

HUNTSVILLE (AA: 45-36 overall, 7-5 second half; T-1st Southern League North Division): The Stars lost 5-3 at Tennessee. The Smokies were up 5-1 before Huntsville scored twice in the ninth to make it a bit closer.

BREVARD COUNTY (High-A: 45-27 overall, 5-3 second half; 4th Florida State League North Division): The Manatees beat Daytona 4-2. Jim Henderson (’09) got the win with three innings in relief of Alex Periard (’09). Chris Errecart hit a three-run homer in the first inning to give Brevard County an early lead.

HELENA (SHORT SEASON ROOKIE: 7-4; T-1st Pioneer League North Division): The Brewers beat Billings 6-5. Shawn Zarraga (’09) was 2-for-3 with two RBI for Helena and the Brewers swept the series from the Mustangs.

AZL BREWERS (ROOKIE: 5-5; 3rd Arizona League East Division): The Brewers were off on Friday.
