Fourteen runs, clutch hits, situational hitting, the Rattlers scored everywhich way but loose and didn't even have to fight a biker gang or hang with an orangutan.
Let's see:
Putting the ball in play with a runner at third and less than two outs: Hernandez & Sabatella in the second and Craig in the third.
Sacrifice fly: Saunders in the third,
Clutch two-out hits: Valbuena, Tucker, and Hernandez in the fourth.
Home Run: Gary in the sixth.
Looks good to me.
Plus, Marwin Vega settled down after giving up two runs on two hits in the first inning. That allows me to bust this out for the first time this year:
I've been saving that for awhile. To give credit (and maybe to send you on a trip) I got that from this site. I'm not sure what it is, but any site that stores magazine ads for a '79 Nova, a '72 Montego, a '70 El Camino, and various other cars from that era can't be bad.
Okay, back to baseball. Two game winning streak. The Rattlers will try to keep it rolling against South Bend. This isn't really a rematch from the Midwest League Championship series in September of 2005.
The Silver Hawks lost today and they have a five game losing streak heading into Friday's game.
The pitching matchups for the series will be posted before the bus leaves in the morning.
