Okay, this is weird

Here is an excerpt from an on-line article about how a team won a game yesterday with a bottom of the ninth inning rally yesterday. To lead into it, there are two runners on base, two outs, and the team is down by one run:

X, 0-4 on the night and 3-35 to start the season was next, and he
chopped a 2-1 pitch off the plate and into the infield grass near the first base line. Y came off the mound to get it, but never seemed to get his feet set as he fired the ball past [the first baseman] down the right field line. Z scored easily to tie the game and A raced around all the way around from first with the game-winning run.

That is not a recap of the Rattler win yesterday. It is from the Burlington Bees on-line and it is about their win over the Fort Wayne Wizards. Complete story here.

Two different teams in the Midwest League win in almost the exact same odd way on the same day. Man, I love baseball.

By the way, Z up there in the story is former Timber Rattler outfielder Carlos Arroyo (WI '03).
