Mariner System Report (Games of 4/13)

Seattle (MAJ: 5-5; T-2nd AL West): The Mariners rallied from a 4-0 deficit to beat Cleveland 9-5. Julio Mateo (WI ’00) got the win with 1-2/3 innings of scoreless relief out of the bullpen and JJ Putz (WI ’00) got the save with two innings of shutout ball. Ichiro and Jose Lopez homered and Carl Everett drove in three runs to get the M’s back to .500.

Tacoma (AAA – 4-3; T-1st PCL Pacific Northern Division): Tacoma’s game with Sacramento got rained out at home. The game has been rescheduled for mid-June.

San Antonio (AA – 5-2; 1st Texas League West Division): The Missions edged Midland 6-4. San Antonio built an early 4-0 lead with a four spot in the first inning. Wladimir Balentien (WI ’04) drove in a pair of runs in the first inning. Jason Mackintosh (WI ’04) got the victory with 2-2/3 innings of scoreless work out of the bullpen.

Inland Empire (High-A – 5-2 T-1st California League South Division): The 66ers won their fourth straight with a 5-3 win in fourteen innings over Lancaster. Yung Chi Chen (WI ’05) tied the game with an RBI single in the bottom of the eighth. Eric Monzon hit a two run homer for the game winner. Ivan Blanco (WI ’05) got the win out of the bullpen.
