Seattle (MAJ: 9-14; 4th AL West): Former Appleton Fox Raul Ibanez went 3-for-4 with a pair of runs and an RBI in a 5-1 Mariner win over the White Sox. Rafael Soriano (WI ’00) and JJ Putz (WI ’00) each did scoreless work out of the bullpen to preserve the win for Jarrod Washburn.
Tacoma (AAA – 11-7; 2nd PCL Pacific Northern Division): The Rainiers were off yesterday.
San Antonio (AA – 6-13; 4th Texas League South Division): San Antonio started a homestand with a 2-1 loss to Arkansas. Ryan Feierabend (WI ’04) went six innings allowed three hits and struck out six, but took the loss because of a pair of unearned runs scoring on a Brandon Wood home run. The San Antonio News-Express has a notes section today about a flu bug going through the Missions, Jason Mackintosh becoming a starter, and Bryan LaHair keeping a streak alive.
Inland Empire (High-A – 11-8; T-2nd California League South Division): Brent Johnson (WI ’05) drew a bases loaded walk in the bottom of the eighth inning to break a 5-5 tie and the 66ers held on for the 6-5 win over Bakersfield. Johnson was 2-for-3 with a pair of RBI. Josh Womack (WI ’05) also had a pair of RBI for the 66ers. Inland Empire rallied from a 5-0 deficit for the win.
