Mariner System Report (Games of 4/21)

Seattle (MAJ: 7-11; 4th AL West): The Mariners lost 2-1 to the Tigers. Jarrod Washburn gave up two runs in 8-2/3 innings on five hits and got the loss.

Tacoma (AAA – 9-5; 1st PCL Pacific Northern Division): Tacoma beat Sacramento 8-5. TJ Bohn (WI ’03) homered twice and drove in five runs. Greg Dobbs (WI ’02) also homered and Renee Cortez (WI ’03) worked 2-2/3 innings scoreless out of the Rainier bullpen for the win.

San Antonio (AA – 5-9; 4th Texas League South Division): San Antonio jumped to a 5-2 lead, but could not hold it and lost 7-6 at Midland. Wladimir Balentien (WI ’04) drove in three runs for the Missions, but it was the seventh loss in a row for San Antonio.

Inland Empire (High-A – 8-6; T-2nd California League South Division): The 66ers trailed 3-0 in the top of the fourth inning at Bakersfield, when lightning halted, then suspended the game. The suspended game will be picked up on Sunday afternoon with the regularly scheduled game to follow. Story here (registration required).
