Rattler Alums in Rainier-Mariner Exhibition Game

The Seattle Mariners and the Tacoma Rainiers played an exhibition game at Cheney Stadium yesterday. Tacoma beat Seattle 5-4. Find the box Score here.

Mike Wilson, the Rattler home run and RBI leader in '05, had a couple of RBI for the Rainiers. His two run double tied the game in the seventh inning.

Oswaldo Navarro, who had a lot of clutch hits for the Rattlers last year, had three hits and drove in the winning runs with a single in the eighth.

The Tacoma News-Tribune story is here. (One time registration required)

Also at the News-Tribune site is a story about Clint Nageotte (WI '01) being the likely number one starter for the Rainiers this season. That's great for Clint. He is the Rattler single season record holder for strikeouts with 187 in 2001 and he started yesterday's game with by striking out Ichiro.

One of the plans I have for a regular feature on this site is a Rattler Alumni of the Day. That will be starting shortly and will cover former Rattlers in the majors and the minors. There are a lot of former Rattlers out there in the baseball world, which means plenty to pick from for the award.
