Seattle (MAJ: 56-60; 4th AL West): The Mariners lost 5-4 at Texas. The Mariners fell behind 5-0 and could not make up the deficit. The Mariners scored four times in the top of the eighth inning to get close. Mark Lowe (WI ’05) pitched a scoreless bottom of the eighth and has still not allowed a run as a Mariner, but the M’s couldn’t score in the ninth.
Tacoma (AAA – 64-55; 2nd PCL Pacific Northern Division): Tacoma lost 6-2 at Portland. Jeff Clement (WI ’05) drove in both Rainier runs.
San Antonio (AA – 51-65; 24-24 second half 4th Texas League South Division): San Antonio lost 5-3 to Tulsa. The Missions had a 3-0 lead into the top of the eighth inning. But, the Drillers scored five runs – four came in on a grand slam off Ryan Rowland-Smith (WI ’03) in the eighth. The loss was San Antonio’s eighth straight.
Inland Empire (High-A – 62-55, 23-24 second half; 3rd California League South Division): Inland Empire lost 11-3 at Lancaster. Luis Valbuena (WI ’06) had a pair of hits for the 66ers.
Everett (Short Season-A – 24-29; 4th Northwest League West Division): Everett lost 4-2 at Boise. Chao Kuan Wu (WI ’06) drove in one of the runs for the Sox.
AZL M’s (Rookie – 21-21; 7-7 T-5th Arizona League): The Mariners beat the Giants 4-3. Welington Dotel hit a three run homer during a four run fifth inning for the M’s.
